Can anyone tell me the difference between cars back then and cars now?

I need to know what has changed since in cars since the 1920's to today.
Can anyone tell me the difference between cars back then and cars now?
Everything. Get a book on the history of the automobile,it would take days to explain all that has changed. One note, gas cost about a quarter back then.
Can anyone tell me the difference between cars back then and cars now?
So much have changed it will fill a book.

But I think the most exciting thing were the recent changes - namely the software (computer). Through the use of sensors and software, our cars run cleaner and get better MPG and has more HP and lasts longer.

For instance, in carburetor day, the engine had to run RICH all the time to prevent engine knocks. Now cars have knock sensors and the ignition timing is immediately retarded ON THE FLY to squelch the engine knock.

Also the old cars had mechanical timing advance. Now the computer can be programmed to advance the timing exactly for every driving condition.

If you were to look at old car diagrams, the vacuum diagram look like a spaghetti dish. Modern engines vacuum diagrams are about 1/3 as complex due to use of computer software AND runs better.

Good Luck...
