Your Civic EX is the top-of-the-line trim level for your model year; meaning it is th most expensive and highest equipped Civic in the Civic line. Civic Si is the overall top model, but there wasn't an Si available in 2001. Also, the EX is still one of the high end models with a more powerful engine, power moonroof, better stereo and a few more features that other Civics don't offer. Si's take it further with performance upgrades and an evenmore powerful engine, but are only available with a manual transmission. If you want all of the toys and an automatic transmission, the EX is the answer.
